About the Park
Veterans Park is one of our larger and more open, passive parks. It features a professionally developed 5K cross-country course for walking and jogging and is host each year to the Great American Cross Country Race. The park also hosts annual events such as Hoover's own Pet-a-Palooza and Movies in the Park. A large, open, grassy area and two small lakes (one with a pier), accommodate large crowds on evenings and weekends. In 2007, the park was chosen as the location for Hoover's 40th birthday celebration.
The park also features a large playground, beach volleyball courts, and two covered pavilions available for rent to the public. For more information on rentals, please call 205-444-7792.
Park Dedication
This park was dedicated in 2007, to the memory of our veterans. There is a large monument commemorating those who have served our country in each of the armed forces. A project is underway to recognize veterans who have a connection to Hoover.
